Romelu Lukaku salutes the fans after scoring at Old Trafford

Social media went nuts for Red Rom's 100th PL goal

Romelu Lukaku was the talk of social media following United's 2-0 win against Swansea, during which the in-form striker netted his 100th Premier League goal.

At just 24 years old, the Belgian is the youngest foreign player in Premier League history to reach the tally, and the fifth-youngest  overall.

Lukaku opened the scoring in the fifth minute, after an intricate United move that culminated in a short pass from Alexis Sanchez. Rom fired his shot goalwards from around ten yards out, and found the net despite the ball taking a slight deflection off Swans defender Alfie Mawson.

It was his 26th goal of an increasingly impressive debut season at Old Trafford, and helped United set asides any early nerves as they returned to action following the international break.

Alexis Sanchez's second United goal made the game safe shortly after, and United endured a Swansea revival in the second half to claim a relatively comfortable three points.

But Lukauku's remarkable achievement was the game's outstanding story, and puts him in elite company when it comes to the fastest players to reach 100 goals in the Premier League. Only Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane reached the 100 mark more quickly than United's summer acquisition.
