Shaw savours a special night with England
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw was applauded by an icon of his position after delivering two assists in England's comprehensive Euro 2020 quarter-final win over Ukraine.
The Reds defender's attacking contributions have earned him a nickname of 'Shawberto Carlos' from some fans, and the man whose monicker that is based on joined in the admiration on social media following the 4-0 victory in Rome.
Roberto Carlos, who scored 11 goals in 125 games for Brazil and helped them to win the 2002 World Cup and two Copa Americas, replied to Luke's Instagram post with eight applause emojis - a surefire sign that he approved of the United player's performance.
Shaw himself had simply commented "What a night! All eyes on the semis" but naturally he expanded on that when interviewed by ITV reporter Gabriel Clarke.

"It was a perfect night, I'm extremely proud of the team," he said.
"Going back to Wembley for a semi-final in a major tournament is a very positive step and one we're all really looking forward to."
When asked to explain the secret of his success, Shaw answered modestly: "There’s no secret. Defensively and on the attacking side, I'll help the team however I can and tonight I did that with two assists. [And we've kept] another clean sheet which is a massive foundation of our work that we put in.
"This was another great night for the fans obviously here and at home to enjoy, with more smiles on their faces, and hopefully we can keep that up.
"But there's no time to lose concentration, we've got to be ready another massive game in four days, against Denmark."

On the subject of his first start in a major tournament, Sancho added: "It's one of my happiest moments. My family will be proud of me and I'm just happy that all the coaching staff gave me the opportunity to play tonight.
