Japan fans at the 2018 World Cup.

#MUFCMundial: Japan

Thursday 05 July 2018 15:17

Manchester United fan Crystal is representing Japan in our #MUFCMundial series during the World Cup in Russia.

Despite leading 2-0, the Asian nation were knocked out in the last 16 after Belgium’s dramatic comeback to win 3-2, but Crystal is now pinning her hopes on the Three Lions…

Which country are you representing and why?
I’m from Hong Kong but, as my country hasn’t qualified in the World Cup, I’m in Japan so I was following them before they were knocked out. Now, I support England. England is the team I have supported since I first watched the World Cup.

Crystal is positive about England's chances of World Cup success.

Who do you think will win the World Cup?
England can get into the final. They can score for fun.

How would you sum up your feelings about the World Cup using emojis only?
😍

Which United star do you think will shine brightest during the World Cup?
Jesse Lingard. He’s a new superstar!

Have you ever been to Old Trafford?
Yes, I have been there this year. It was the best moment of my life!

Which player from your national team would you love to see in a United shirt?
I can’t think of any Japan players who I’d want to play for United but maybe in the future, I will give birth to a boy and he could be a United player…

Japan finished second in Group H ahead of Senegal on the fair play rule, before losing to Belgium in the last 16.
