Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United team announced to face Leicester

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named his much-changed Manchester United side to take on Leicester City at Old Trafford this evening (18:00 BST kick-off).

The Reds go into the game hot on the heels of Sunday's win at Aston Villa with another big match to follow on Thursday against Liverpool.

Consequently, the boss indicated he would have to make wholesale changes to his line-up and that is the case with only Mason Greenwood retained from the Villa Park victory.

Nemanja Matic captains a young side with Anthony Elanga making his senior debut and Amad starting on the other flank.

Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe form the central defensive partnership with David De Gea behind them in goal. There is no Harry Maguire on the bench after he picked up an ankle injury at the weekend.

Brandon Williams, Alex Telles, Juan Mata and Donny van de Beek are also drafted into the side.

This is the joint-most changes made to a United side for a Premier League game - the previous occasion was against Hull City on the final day of the 2008/09 season, when we won 1-0 with a Darron Gibson goal.

“I want them to go out there, work hard as a team, we have set a plan out," said Ole before the game. "The most important thing is they go out and enjoy themselves, play with no fears.

“We know it is a difficult task when you put a team together that has never played together before but still they are training together every day anyway. Show some personality, take responsibility."
