Martinez trains as Reds prepare for La Real

Lisandro Martinez trained with the main group at Carrington as Manchester United stepped up preparations for the Europa League tie with Real Sociedad.

Erik ten Hag's side meet the Spanish outfit at Old Trafford in Group E of the competition, with the home clash kicking off at 20:00 BST on Thursday night.

Martinez was withdrawn during the excellent 3-1 win over Arsenal at the weekend and was flagged in some quarters as a possible injury doubt but the signs certainly look positive for the Argentina international being available.

Anthony Martial was still missing from the group, as Ten Hag had indicated in his pre-match press conference when ruling the France forward out of the Old Trafford encounter.

Luke Shaw and Donny van de Beek, who were absentees from the matchday squad on Sunday, were also not spotted as our cameras filmed the session at our training base.

Casemiro was involved and will be hoping for a first start in United colours, while Antony is going into the game on the back of his goalscoring debut against the Gunners.

Zidane Iqbal and Alejandro Garnacho worked with the squad as Ten Hag ponders his selection for a tough test against the team from San Sebastian.

Fellow youngsters Tyler Fredricson (defender), Kobbie Mainoo (midfielder) and Charlie McNeill (striker), all members of last term's FA Youth Cup-winning side, also took part and would be eligible to form part of the B list section of the official squad submitted to UEFA, if required come matchday.

The other game in the group kicks off at the same time, with Omonia Nicosia taking on Sheriff Tiraspol.
