While Manchester United enjoyed success on the pitch during the Bangkok leg of Tour 2022, the club also made a significant impact off it, with local Thai youth players being provided with amazing football sessions.

During our time in the Thai capital, we put on two sessions for youngsters in the city to get involved in.

Legendary Red Denis Irwin and United technical director Darren Fletcher showed their support for these events, either coaching or lending their advice to the players involved.

Read on to find out more about these brilliant opportunities and the impact they have had...

Denis Irwin coached a group of young Thai footballers in Bangkok.

Just hours after the United squad arrived in Bangkok, the MUSS Soccer Schools got to work.

Local Thai youth players were offered the opportunity to participate in a session led by Irwin.

These players received the full MUSS experience on the professional pitches of the STB Academy, the location where our first-team squad trained while we were out in Thailand.

Our partnership with adidas features a heavy commitment to giving back to local communities. With this in mind, we provided 30 children aged 10 to 12 from underprivileged schools in Bangkok with a session led by the MUSS.

This event was supported by Darren Fletcher, who praised the impact of United's Soccer Schools.

He said: “They’ve got Manchester United strips, boots and equipment, and are getting coached by Manchester United Soccer School.

“It's an amazing opportunity for the young boys and girls and the smiles on their faces says it all.”
