Match Rewind: Watch classic United games for free
The suspension of live football action is something we’re all coming to terms with, and while there’s no argument these steps are vital and necessary, there’s no getting away from the fact we’re all missing the match right now. Which is why we’re launching our brand new ‘Match Rewind’ campaign... powered by you.
Starting today, we will publish a series of polls that list four classic matches and your votes alone will decide which of those will be streamed for free via our Official App and ManUtd.com. Our club is blessed with an unrivalled history of classic matches and memorable occasions that are worthy of seeing over and over again, so we’ll be plundering the archives to present the best in show, and collectively relive those moments once more.
Each poll will have a specific theme that could be a historic rival, European nights, iconic moments in Reds history, or simply a legendary player who is intrinsically linked to a match, each of which will provide an opportunity to experience the thrill of the match and the sheer joy involved in some of these amazing games.
To begin with, because we were meant to face them in the Premier League last Sunday, the first category is ‘Tottenham Hotspur’ and our opening poll features these iconic matches:
1998/99: United 2-1 Tottenham
2001/02: Tottenham 3-5 United
2006/07: Tottenham 0-4 United
2008/09: United 5-2 Tottenham
So which one do you want to see in full?
Voting is open via our Official App until Tuesday at 16:00 GMT and the match will be streamed in full from 19:00 GMT that same evening.
A fresh poll will open at 09:00 GMT on Wednesday morning ahead of the winning match being shown in full at 19:00 GMT on Thursday.
Going forward, our plan is to stream classic United matches for free every 48 hours – so you’ll have plenty of football to enjoy.
