Revealed: United's Derby Man of the Match
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has been voted our Man of the Match after another excellent performance and a crucial goal during our victorious Manchester Derby.
The full-back secured a huge 60 per cent of the vote in our Official App after bagging the second strike in the Reds’ 2-0 triumph over Manchester City at the Etihad.
Shaw slotted the ball beyond Ederson five minutes into the second half after Marcus Rashford fed the ball into his feet in the penalty area, creating his opportunity with a perfect first touch.
Luke also played a vital role in shutting out the hosts' attacking exploits and maintaining our fourth successive clean sheet in all competitions.
Runner-up in the voting was our other goalscorer against City, Bruno Fernandes, who coolly converted from the penalty spot in just the second minute.
In third was the man who won that penalty after just 34 seconds, Anthony Martial and the Frenchman added to that with a fine attacking display having originally been a doubt for the game with an injury.
Dean Henderson was fourth in the poll as he earned his ninth clean sheet for the club, making a number of impressive saves in his first Premier League derby.
MAN OF THE MATCH: THE TOP FOUR
Shaw – 60%
Fernandes – 12%
Martial – 10%
Henderson – 7%
Congratulations Luke - and thanks to everyone for voting!
