Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has bumped into Old Trafford royalty during his summer break in America, by meeting up with bona fide club legend David Beckham.

Our France international has been over in Miami for the last few weeks, enjoying his summer break with family following his exertions at the European Championship.

Pogba has been training hard on an individual basis to ensure he is fit for the new season and followers of his official Instagram account will have seen his updates.

However, in his down time, Paul likes to enjoy himself and was clearly delighted to pose for a picture with Becks, who of course owns Major League Soccer franchise, Inter Miami, in the city.

Posting the below photo to his 46.3million followers on Instagram, Pogba simply wrote: “Too much sauce.”

What do you think about a United midfield featuring Paul Pogba and David Beckham?

Always active on social media, Pogba has been regularly updating his followers with insights into his break and those have often included images of workouts, with the new campaign clearly in mind.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s rain or sweat… we got work to do!” wrote the United man on Wednesday, alongside an image of him drenched in an apparent mixture of perspiration and Miami rain.

There was a similarly motivational quote at the weekend, when Paul posted: “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in the person’s determination.”

On Wednesday evening, Pogba sent a message of appreciation and support to Simone Biles, the American gymnast and four-time Olympic gold medallist who has made the headlines by withdrawing from action at the Tokyo Games.

Biles, the most successful US gymnast of all time, said she had to focus on her mental health after pulling out of Tuesday’s women's team final. While this has prompted debate in some quarters, the 24-year-old has largely been praised for prioritising her wellbeing when under huge pressure.

Pogba’s display of respect came just days after he endorsed inspirational comments made by Giannis Ugo Antetokounmpo, a Greek-Nigerian basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA.

He has even visited the world-famous Miami Heat for a practice session that he shared on Instagram, showing of his impressive skills on the court. It’s well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.
