Manchester United's players enjoyed some downtime on Wednesday afternoon.

The lads have been in St Andrews, Scotland this week for the second of two training camps ahead of the new season.

The seaside town, located on the country's east coast, is renowned across the world for being 'the home of golf' boasting several world-class courses, including 'the Old Course', which has hosted the Open Championship on 29 occasions.

The famous Swilcan Bridge on the 18th hole of the Old Course, St Andrews.

It would be rude, then, not to take advantage of the opportunity to play while away and that is just what five Reds did.

Captain Harry Maguire shared a snap on social media of himself and fellow defender Phil Jones, plus midfielders Juan Mata, Daniel James and Scott McTominay after their round.

The quintet were joined by assistant manager Michael Carrick, as well as several members of the coaching staff.

Ever the competitor, Maguire also let it be known who had emerged as United's 2021 pre-season golfing champions - with his Instagram Stories post seeming to suggest he and Carrick were the top dogs!

Of course, golf's not for everyone and several of Harry's team-mates, including Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial, opted to play tennis instead, while others took time to relax.

The squad will train on Thursday morning, before heading back to Manchester in the afternoon ahead of Saturday's friendly with Everton at Saturday lunchtime.
