February fixture changes announced

Our away trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor will now start at 20:00 GMT on Tuesday 8 February 2022, 15 minutes later than it was provisionally scheduled for. It will be shown live in the UK on BT Sport.

Four days later, the same broadcaster will screen our home game against Southampton at Old Trafford in the Saturday lunchtime slot at 12:30 GMT. Again, there is no change to the date as the game had been pencilled in for 15:00 GMT that afternoon.

The latter clash, between Ralf Rangnick's Reds and Ralph Hasenhuttl's Saints, falls 10 days after the first anniversary of United's 9-0 win in the corresponding fixture last season.

That incredible scoreline did, of course, equal our record victory in the Premier League, set in March 1995 against Ipswich Town. 

Our other top-flight fixtures in February, away to Leeds United and at home to Watford, are so far unaffected but remain subject to change.

The Premier League stated: "In order to provide supporters with as much certainty of the fixture schedule as possible, selections for the remaining two match rounds in February will be finalised once the schedule for UEFA club competitions is confirmed, with an announcement to be made following the outcome of the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and subsequent draw for the semi-finals."
