Paul Pogba playing for Manchester United against Rochdale.

United v Arsenal: Teams announced

Monday 30 September 2019 19:04

Manchester United and Arsenal have announced their sides to play in Monday's Premier League game.

Marcus Rashford is back in the United XI to lead Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attack against the Gunners, but there is disappointment for the Reds with right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka missing out on the match due to tonsillitis.

Rashford, who scored two goals on his Premier League debut against Arsenal in February 2016, was taken off with a groin injury against West Ham our last league game and missed the Carabao Cup tie against Rochdale.

The 21-year-old was a doubt to face Emery’s side but has won his battle for fitness.

It means his stand-in against FC Astana and Rochdale, Mason Greenwood, who scored our goals in those matches, steps down to the bench.

Axel Tuanzebe makes his first Premier League start of the season.

Paul Pogba was also a potential concern on the sick list with an ankle problem that troubled him again towards the end of his comeback game last Wednesday.

However, the France international has also proved his fitness and will be in the centre of the Reds' engine room.

After the freshening up and rotating of personnel against Rochdale in our penalty shoot-out win, the manager has made changes from that starting line-up but there are also three changes to the last Premier League outing when we lost 2-0 at the London Stadium against the Hammers.

Pogba missed that trip and Jesse Lingard is also back in the team, replacing Nemanja Matic.

Wan-Bissaka, laid low by illness, sees his right-back job has go to Axel Tuanzebe who skippered the team in the Carabao Cup last week.
