United offer free coach travel to Bournemouth
Manchester United is pleased to confirm return coach travel from Old Trafford will be provided free of charge for ticket holders attending our Premier League away fixture against Bournemouth, making sure supporters are able to get behind the team at a late Friday night kick-off.
Our away match is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 GMT at the Vitality Stadium on 20 March, and the club is aware there is extremely limited transport options for supporters looking to return to the North West following the game.
This fixture follows an unusually high number of games that have been played midweek this season.
The club, listening to the views raised by supporters in both the Fan Advisory Board and Fans’ Forum, has raised concerns in meetings with senior counterparts at both the Premier League and broadcasters in recent months, highlighting the impact scheduling decisions have on match-going supporters and urging them to make earlier decisions, especially around December fixtures, to make it easier for fans to plan.
Director of fan engagement Rick McGagh said: “We believe we have the best and loudest away following in the country and we wanted to do something for our fans to show we appreciate their dedication and support.
“When games are moved from a weekend to a Friday or Monday night, we know it impacts fans, meaning they often have to take time off work and face more expensive and greatly restricted travel options. We continue to work with our FAB and Fans’ Forum reps and share their concerns to broadcasters and the Premier League.
“We hope this gesture helps our fans travelling down to Bournemouth for the game, and, on behalf of the players and everyone at the club, we thank them for their continued support.”
Fans with tickets for the game will not only benefit from the free transport provided to and from Bournemouth and Old Trafford, but will also be entered into a raffle to win a men's first-team signed shirt in recognition of their incredible support.
Details of how to book the free coach travel will be shared with the results of the ballot to successful applicants.
Please note, fans must organise their own travel to Old Trafford to use the free return coach service. There are no alternative pick-up or drop-off points.
