Edi's personal news excites current and former Reds

Everyone at Manchester United would like to congratulate Edinson Cavani on the arrival of his baby boy Silvestre.

Our Uruguayan centre-forward announced the birth of his son with a post on his social media accounts on Thursday evening.

In the photo, newly-born Silvestre is held by his mother and Edinson’s wife Jocelyn in the hospital bed.

Silvestre is Edi’s fourth child. In 2019, India was welcomed to the world, and our no. 7 also has two sons, Bautista and Lucas.

It was not just the man himself who was thrilled with the news as both current and former Reds took the chance to congratulate Edi on Silvestre’s birth.

Juan Mata and David De Gea were among the United stars to send their love to the 34-year-old by commenting on his post, as well as Tim Fosu-Mensah, who played with our prolific striker for a few months before the Dutch defender moved to Bayer Leverkusen in January.

Ex-Red Angel Di Maria, who played with Edinson at Paris Saint-Germain, also sent his wishes together with Marco Verratti, Christopher Nkunku, Pablo Sarabia and Mauro Icardi, who also shared the pitch with Edi in the French capital.

As you might have noticed, Edinson’s boy shares the name with former United defender Mikael Silvestre. The Frenchman spent nine years at Old Trafford between 1999 and 2008 before leaving for Arsenal. The former Red reached out to congratulate Edinson and it seems like he is honoured by the choice of name.

Congratulations once again to Edinson and his family on the fantastic news.
