Monday 13 January 2025 18:35

We will continue our defence of the Adobe Women's FA Cup by travelling to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the fifth round of this season's competition.

Marc Skinner's Reds progressed to the aforementioned stage by beginning our reign as holders with an emphatic 7-0 home victory over West Bromwich Albion, in Saturday's fourth-round tie.

Now, we'll head to the West Midlands for the upcoming meeting with Wolves, to be played on the weekend of 8 and 9 February.

Next month's match will be our women's team's first-ever competitive meeting with the Wanderers who, like Midlands rivals West Brom, play their league football in the third tier as members of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division.

Dan McNamara's side are currently just a point off the top spot, having tasted defeat in just one of their 11 league matches so far this campaign.

They entered this season's FA Cup in the first round proper and recorded high-scoring victories over Asfordby Amateurs (7-1), Sporting Khalsa (8-1) and Shrewsbury Town (14-0), before booking their place in the forthcoming stage of the competition with a 2-0 victory away to Cheltenham Town over the weekend.

The National League outfit primarily play their home matches at the New Bucks Head in Telford, with full details on the fixture to follow in due course.
