Reds begin WSL season against champions Chelsea
Manchester United’s first two fixtures for the 2020/21 Women’s Super League season have been announced, and the Reds will begin by hosting the champions Chelsea.
Chelsea were eventually awarded the WSL crown last campaign on a points-per-game basis after the end of the regular season was curtailed due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Emma Hayes’s side will therefore begin the defence of their crown with a trip to United, with our first match of the season set to take place on Sunday 6 September.

Our second match of the new campaign is set for 13 September and will see us travel to the Midlands to face Birmingham City.
The Blues ultimately finished 11th last season, just one place above the drop. Casey Stoney’s side beat Birmingham 3-1 in 2019/20 in a Continental League Cup tie, meanwhile we lost 1-0 to Chelsea last term on two separate occasions.
United have been working hard ahead of the new campaign after reporting back to training last month.
