United and adidas launch the Teamgeist collection
Manchester United has teamed up with adidas to launch the Teamgeist collection that celebrates the club's famous team spirit, never-say-die attitude and proud history.
In the 2006/07 season, a select number of club teams across Europe took on the Teamgeist template in order to tell their own story. With so many iconic moments and memories made whilst players wore those Teamgeist jerseys, this new collection provides us with the opportunity to make many more.
The new Teamgeist collection is available now via United Direct.
Translating to “team spirit'' in German, Teamgeist was designed to feature functional and eye-catching mesh panelling along the sides and collars of the jerseys, which made it such an iconic and mesmerising collection, alongside the equally mesmeric Teamgeist ball that was present at the 2006 tournament. So many memories and stories were told as teams wore it with pride all over the world representing their nation.
To coincide with the launch, adidas and Manchester United have also worked with Japanese publication Shukyu to exhibit the Manchester United collection in all of its glory. Working alongside a number of other top clubs, an exclusive, limited edition magazine featuring the new collection has been produced by Shukyu.
It features stunning imagery of the collection alongside words and insight from those that have redefined what this beautiful game means to them. An interview with Rio Ferdinand details his illustrious career and how the game has changed since his playing days.
Consisting of a pre-match jersey, short sleeved t-shirt, crew neck jumper, jogging bottoms, track jacket and a padded down jacket, the Teamgeist collection is available now exclusively at United Direct and adidas.
The Teamgeist collection was a celebration of football culture and creating memories upon its initial release in 2006, and it’s come full circle now in order to celebrate how far the game and global community has come, now it’s time to make some new memories.
