Harry Maguire celebrates scoring the winner at Anfield, in the white kit's first outing.

Why Bournemouth is big moment for United's kit

Manchester United will be wearing our white away shirt for the final time this season in a men's first-team game, when we face Bournemouth on Friday.

The eye-catching design, with flashes of purple and lilac, will be remembered fondly for some wonderful moments over the course of its use this term.

It was always going to be difficult to top its first competitive airing, coming in the 2-1 win at Liverpool on 19 October.

Our first victory at Anfield since 2016, with Harry Maguire nodding the winner, after Bryan Mbeumo's early opener was levelled by Cody Gakpo, remains a real highlight.

The shirt, which has proved very popular with supporters since its launch in mid-July, was then worn in another 2-1 victory, against Crystal Palace, on 30 November.

Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount scored the goals, as we came from behind to overturn Jean-Philippe Mateta's penalty.

The only defeat in the strip came four days before Christmas, when we were rather unfortunate to lose 2-1 at Aston Villa, despite a clinical finish by Matheus Cunha.

The two most recent matches where we've won the away kit have ended in draws.

Darren Fletcher was in interim charge for the clash against Burnley, that finished 2-2, as Benjamin Sesko began his hot streak in front of goal with both strikes at Turf Moor.

Our Slovenia sharpshooter was also on the scoresheet in the 1-1 draw at West Ham United in February, brilliantly converting Mbeumo's near-post cross in the dying seconds to rescue a point.

Hence, the Vitality Stadium encounter on Friday night will be the sixth, and final time, the first team have worn the jersey in 2025/26.
