Mainoo makes his England debut

It was a night to remember for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, as he made his senior international debut, despite England being on the wrong end of Brazil's 1-0 win at Wembley.

With 15 minutes remaining on the clock in the friendly fixture, the 18-year-old Red replaced Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher in the middle of the park.

Fittingly, Mainoo was joined on the pitch by Marcus Rashford who entered the fray at the same time, the latter coming on for Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon.

Harry Maguire also featured for England, making way for Lewis Dunk with 20 minutes to play.

End-to-end action in the first 45 made for exciting viewing at the national stadium but it was the visitors who came closest to breaking the deadlock.
Vinicius Jr. was denied the opener after Kyle Walker’s recovery run stopped the ball before it could cross the goal line, with West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta hitting the post soon after.

It would take over 80 minutes for either side to get on the scoresheet, and it was Brazil who finally broke the deadlock, when 17-year-old Endrick knocked home the only goal of the game after Jordan Pickford saved Vini Jr.’s initial effort.
Christian Eriksen (first left) and Rasmus Hojlund (first right) both played for Denmark against Switzerland.
Elsewhere, two further Reds were in action as Denmark were held at home to Switzerland.

Both Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen started the 0-0 draw in Copenhagen.

Our young striker was substituted with five minutes remaining, while the latter played the full 90 minutes in midfield.
