March fixture amendments announced
Manchester United's March schedule has become much clearer after the dates for live television coverage were announced by the Premier League.
Sky Sports will be showing the Reds in the UK on successive weekends with the trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium switched to Sunday March 10, with a 16:30 GMT kick-off. The two teams drew 2-2 at Old Trafford earlier in the season and clash again in Friday night's Emirates FA Cup tie.
The eagerly awaited Manchester derby with City is provisionally booked in for Saturday March 16 (12:30 GMT kick-off) but the match will need to be postponed if either or both sides qualify for the FA Cup quarter-finals that are due to be played on the same weekend.
The other Premier League matches in the month - the home games against Southampton on 2 March and Watford 28 days later - are not being screened live on television in the UK and will, therefore, remain as 15:00 GMT Saturday starts.
The Saints encounter comes a few days before the trip to France to meet Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the round of 16 Champions League tie.
There is also an international break during this spell with no domestic fixtures scheduled for the weekend of 23/24 March. If the City game is called off and United are no longer in the FA Cup, this will mean a lengthy gap in the calendar, perhaps reiterating why interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not concerning himself with any suggestion of future fixture congestion.
