Rashford breaks his silence with a post to fans
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has responded to last weekend’s one-sided defeat to Liverpool, with an honest admission to supporters via social media.
Our homegrown hero knows exactly what the fixture means to everybody associated with the club, and he has previously enjoyed success in the rivalry, but on this occasion it unfortunately did not work out.
United suffered a painful 5-0 defeat at Old Trafford and, since then, Rashford has deliberately kept a low profile to gather his thoughts.

“I can’t lie you haven’t heard from me on here because as a United fan I didn’t really know what to say after Sunday,” writes Rashy. “I was embarrassed. I am embarrassed. Our fans are everything and you didn’t deserve that. We’re working hard to try and fix this. We have to redeem ourselves.”
The squad has been working hard at Carrington this week – as our images above show - with a view to bouncing back in Saturday’s all-important match against Tottenham Hotspur in north London. Rashford hopes to be involved in the 17:30 BST kick-off, which will be shown live on Sky Sports in the UK.
