Marcus Rashford has sent new Manchester United signing Amad Diallo a personal good-luck message, after it emerged that the Ivorian would adopt Rashford's old shirt number.

Diallo, who completed a move from Atalanta earlier this week, will wear the no.19, which Rashford donned from 2016-18.

Amad tagged Marcus while replying to a post made by the club's official Instagram account, and Rashford replied: "Hope it brings you lots of luck bro. See you soon x."
Rashford, who has worn the no.10 shirt since Zlatan Ibrahimovic departed in 2018, started his United career with the squad number 39 in 2016.

He then adopted the no. 19 in the summer of 2016, wearing it for the entirety of 2016/17 and 2017/18, and scoring 24 goals in 105 appearances including a famous double against Liverpool and his Europa League semi-final free-kick winner against Celta Vigo.
Other players to wear the shirt include Danny Welbeck, Gerard Pique and, perhaps most famously, Dwight Yorke, who had the number 19 emblazoned across his back throughout the famous Treble-winning season of 1998/99.

Diallo wore the no. 79 at Atalanta, where he made headlines by scoring on his Serie A debut against Udinese in 2019, just six minutes after coming on as a substitute.
