Rashford voted Man of the Match against Norwich
Marcus Rashford has been named Manchester United's Man of the Match after bagging a brace in his 200th appearance for the Reds, against Norwich City.
The youngster made the breakthrough for United midway through the first half, latching on to a wonderful diagonal ball into the box by Juan Mata, before doubling our advantage after the interval, slotting home a penalty won by Brandon Williams.
Marcus was denied a chance to go for a hat-trick by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as he was substituted for Daniel James on the hour mark, but his performance in his milestone match saw him shortlisted along with star man against Burnley, Brandon Williams, and Juan Mata.
Rashford ultimately came out on top with 44 per cent of the vote in our Official App, with Mata coming a close second with 42, and Williams picking up 14.
Rashford's two strikes against the Canaries saw his goal tally go up to 19 in all competitions for the campaign, and the boss reflected on this when he spoke to MUTV after the match.
"He's been absolutely sensational all season," Solskjaer said. "I was very pleased with the work rate, attitude and the goals he scored today. The first one was a good finish. The second one, he was very calm and composed on his penalty. He was practising penalties yesterday, so I was quite confident."
In his post-match press conference, Solskjaer was asked about the 22-year old reaching the milestone, and whether there is still things he can improve on.
"What an achievement to get to 200 games at his age. He’s a great kid, great attitude, wants to learn, wants to improve, knows to keep his feet on the ground. He’s always available and he’s carrying quite a few knocks and there’s no way he’s going to say to me before the game that he doesn’t want to play."
