Matej Kovar will spend the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Burton Albion after agreeing a loan move to the League One club.

The 21-year-old has also signed a new contract at Manchester United, lasting until June 2023, with the option of an additional year’s extension.

James Garner also contributed an assist for Nottingham Forest over the weekend.

Kovar was called up to the Czech Republic senior squad for the first time in September this year, following a series of impressive performances for his country’s Under-21s.

The goalkeeper embarks on his second temporary spell away from the club, having gained valuable experience across 21 games for Swindon Town last season.

The Czech has trained with United’s first team throughout the campaign, while playing for the Under-23s. He will now further his development whilst working under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at the Brewers.

Everybody at United would like to wish Matej the best of luck this term as we will follow his progress at the Pirelli Stadium.
