Millie Turner in action against Durham for Manchester United

Turner: Fans are our 12th player

Millie Turner is relishing the prospect of playing in front of Manchester United Women's travelling fans once more when we face Everton on Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old is a core part of the backline that has kept four clean sheets in four Women's Super League games so far this season.

And she thinks the fans will be integral to spurring the team on to another potential win and clean sheet this weekend.

"We know that [atmosphere] is coming when we have our fans travelling home and away with us, so it's incredible to have their support," Turner told club media.

Millie Turner talks Everton and our travelling support ahead of this weekend's WSL clash...

She continued: "Like I say every time I do one of these interviews, they are our 12th man so it's important that we can hear their voice this weekend and I'm really excited to get out there with them."

Despite a tough midweek game in the Conti Cup against Durham, in which the Reds drew 2-2 but couldn't pick up the extra point following a loss on penalties, Turner is determined to bounce back on Sunday with a positive result in the league.

"To be honest, you've just got to put it [shootout loss] behind you.

"Games like that happen and it's important for us to move on to the next one."

Our perfect start to the WSL season will be put on the line during Sunday’s trip to Walton Hall Park.

The Reds are taking on fourth-place Everton, who have three wins from five in the league.

"It's always a tough game against Everton," Turner said.

"I think they're very good defensively, so I think that we have to find ways to exploit that and make sure that we take our chances.

"I'm excited to get out there on the pitch with the girls and put on a show."
