United’s first trip to Huddersfield since 1971 ended in a 2-1 defeat on Saturday. The hosts were two goals up by the half-time break thanks to finishes from Aaron Mooy and Laurent Depoitre, before substitute Marcus Rashford pulled one back from an excellent Romelu Lukaku cross.

The England international was named in the starting XI at the John Smith’s Stadium but was sadly forced off early in the first half, after picking up a problem. Our in-form centre-back was visibly frustrated to leave the action and it remains to be seen how long he will be unavailable for.
Jose Mourinho admitted his United team did not deserve to win and the boss expressed his admiration for David Wagner’s hard-working Huddersfield side. Similarly, Ander Herrera conceded the Reds did not show enough fight and determination, and particularly during the decisive first half.
TOTTENHAM ARE NOW LEVEL
Our defeat in Yorkshire presented Spurs with an opportunity to move level on points in the Premier League, and the North London club took it with both hands by beating Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley. That outcome only adds to the importance of their trip to Old Trafford on Saturday.
Tottenham’s win over Liverpool was also notable for Spurs breaking the Premier League's attendance record, with over 80,000 fans inside the national stadium. United had held the previous record from 2007 when 76,073 watched a win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Before that Premier League blockbuster, United have a Carabao Cup fifth-round tie at Swansea City to deal with. The Welsh club also lost at the weekend, going down 2-1 to manager-less Leicester City at home. Paul Clement’s side are now 15th in the table with only eight points to their name.
It wasn’t all bad news at the weekend… Kieran McKenna’s flourishing youngsters secured an emphatic 6-2 win over Middlesbrough at the Aon Training Complex. Lee O'Connor and Nishan Burkart both notched braces, with Aidan Barlow and Dylan Levitt also getting on the scoresheet.
Our legendary former centre-back turned 36 on Saturday and he will be back in club colours this coming weekend, when he travels to Shanghai for the latest ‘I Love United’ event.
