United announce side to play Norwich
Manchester United have announced our side to play Norwich City in Sunday’s Premier League encounter.
The first of those alterations sees David De Gea replace Sergio Romero between the sticks.
Ahead of him, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opted to revert to a four-man defence after operating with a 3-5-2 system in the last two outings.
The boss has recalled Victor Lindelof and Ashley Young to the XI, after the pair both were not involved in the Thursday’s match, and they will start alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire at the back.
Ole has selected an offensive side, with Daniel James and Marcus Rashford expected to line up on the flanks and Andreas Pereira in the no.10 role.
That means Anthony Martial should operate as the sole striker against the Canaries. The French forward made a scoring return to the XI in midweek, netting the only goal of the game in Serbia.
The no.9 has not started a Premier League match since August, but scored in his only away league encounter this season, in the 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
"I thought Anthony looked really sharp when he started the season," Ole told MUTV. "From day one in pre-season. The injury, of course, set him back but we need to give him minutes and the chance to grow his confidence and performances again. It was great for him to get a goal against Partizan and hopefully he can kick on now."
