Ole explains Dubai trip

Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained why he is taking his squad to a training camp in Dubai this weekend.

After the Reds take on Reading in the Emirates FA Cup third round at Old Trafford, hoping to extend Ole's winning run as boss to five games, there will be a chance to prepare for the next Premier League outing against Tottenham at Wembley in warm temperatures at the same venue the club visited last year.

Solskjaer: Why we are going to Dubai

The squad will fly to Dubai following this weekend's FA Cup tie and Solskjaer has revealed the reasons why...

"I've got to know them [the players] because I've had plenty of time to speak to them," Ole said at his press conference on Friday. "But we haven't had plenty of time to train.

"It'll be a time to get some fitness work and work hard with them, so, if any of the players think it's a holiday, they're wrong, because we're there to stick together, work hard on the physical part of it and, of course, think a little bit ahead to the Tottenham game."

The chance to train and work on specifics will be important after the flurry of fixtures over the festive period, with the Reds the only top-flight team to win all of our games in that spell, as Ole looks to ensure everybody is playing the way he wants.

"I really enjoy working with them," he added. "They want to learn, they want to improve and that's key of any footballer. If you're hungry enough and humble enough to know that I've got something to improve on, to work on, then we'll improve as a team in the end."
