United versus Liverpool set for the Big House

Manchester United will play five games in the USA this summer including a highly anticipated clash against rivals Liverpool, as part of the club’s Tour 2018, presented by Aon.

United will take part in the hugely popular International Champions Cup tournament for a fifth consecutive year, with games against AC Milan and Real Madrid also part of the club’s visit to the USA.  
 
Jose Mourinho’s side will begin the tournament in Los Angeles, facing Italian side AC Milan at the Rose Bowl stadium on Wednesday 25 July, kick-off 8.05pm local time.
 
Days later, United will face Liverpool at the Big House in Michigan on Saturday 28 July, kick-off 5.05pm local time, with the Reds returning to the stadium where they set a record US soccer attendance of 109,318 against Real Madrid in 2014.
 
The trip Stateside then concludes with another mouth-watering clash against Real Madrid at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Tuesday 31 July, with kick-off set for 8.05pm local time.
 
Speaking of the club’s summer plans, Manchester United’s Executive Vice Chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “The facilities, venues and fixtures will give the manager and team the ideal preparation for the 2018/19 campaign, whilst also giving our fans in the US the chance to watch their team live.  Once again, we look forward to taking part in the ICC, facing top opposition from different leagues in games which will no doubt be popular with United fans everywhere.”

This will be the sixth consecutive year that the ICC returns to the US, as part of their worldwide tournament through Relevent Sports which has seen some of the biggest football clubs in the world take part. Manchester United has taken part in the last five ICC tournaments in North America and China. The team has played 13 games with over 800,000 supporters attending matches.
