Confirmed: United's team to face Burnley

Ralf Rangnick has opted to make two changes to the XI which started against Middlesbrough in the Emirates FA Cup fourth-round clash at Old Trafford on Friday.

Premier League Player of the Month for January David De Gea maintains his ever-present record in the top-flight this season, as he comes back in for Dean Henderson, while Edinson Cavani makes a first start since 15 January.

The Uruguayan will lead the line, with Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench. Victor Lindelof and Jesse Lingard return to the squad and also occupy places among the substitutes.

United: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire (c), Shaw; McTominay, Pogba, Fernandes; Sancho, Cavani, Rashford.

Subs: Henderson, Lindelof, Jones, Wan-Bissaka, Matic, Mata, Lingard, Elanga, Ronaldo.

The Reds have won on each of our last five visits to Turf Moor without conceding, with Paul Pogba's late volley proving pivotal here in January 2021.

Discussing his team changes Ralf told MUTV and BT Sport: "Well, we played Burnley a couple of weeks ago and we’ve seen quite a few games here at Turf Moor so we know that especially in early stages of the game the game will require a lot of sprinting, fighting for second balls, chasing balls, and I therefore decided to start with Edi because this kind of profile works well for Edi."

Asked if he was hopeful of seeing a cutting edge from his side in front of goal, the boss added: "The first question is will we get that many chances? I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get that many, but even if it’s only half of it, we have to be more clinical.

"This is what I said after the game against Middlesbrough, the way the team translated the gameplan onto the pitch offensively was, I would say, almost perfect, but we have to be clinical and finish those situations off, and hopefully we have learnt that lesson from last week’s cup game."
