Hojlund hungry for the new season

Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund enjoyed a strong introduction to English football during our 2023/24 campaign.

The young Dane joined from Atalanta last summer and, despite being injured during his opening few weeks at the club, scored five goals in the UEFA Champions League for United during our group-stage endeavours.

Despite taking a little longer to open his Premier League account, once he got going there really was no stopping our no.11, who finished the season as top scorer, with a commendable 16 goals in 43 appearances.

With Denmark eliminated by host nation Germany at Euro 2024 a fortnight ago, Hojlund is enjoying some well-deserved downtime at the moment, but his humour and passion for the game are still there to see on his summer holiday.

'This is how hungry I am for the season to start,' wrote Rasmus on Instagram.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Rasmus amplified just how excited he is ahead of the new season, with our first Premier League contest scheduled for 16 August against Fulham.

"This is how hungry I am for the season to start," wrote our young forward on social media, as he posed for a photo while eating a significant joint of meat.

"Madman," wrote team-mate Mason Mount, who will also be hoping for a enjoyable season after injury problems impacted his maiden term as a Red in 2023/24.

"I hope that’s blackcurrant in that glass," added Harry Maguire, jokingly alluding to the glass of red wine in the image.

"Enjoy your holidays and stay calm," said Lisandro Martinez in the comments section.

"It will be scary but not for us," posted Alejandro Garnacho, who is currently away along with Licha at the Copa America.

Hojlund's national side were eliminated by Germany in the last 16 of Euro 2024, losing 2-0 despite being presented with some solid opportunities during the game.

Fellow international team-mate Christian Eriksen is also currently enjoying a break, before the pair return to Carrington later this month for their own pre-season preparations.

Our first test of the summer comes on Monday 15 July, as we take on Rosenborg in Norway, at 17:00 BST.
