Hojlund was keen to repay Rashford
Rasmus Hojlund did not have to wait long before fulfilling one of his wishes in the new year by setting up Marcus Rashford's goal against Tottenham.
The young centre-forward spent time with Inside United, the official club magazine, at Carrington recently to discuss his progress at Old Trafford so far and suggested he was keen to repay Rashford in terms of assists.
The pair have been developing a relationship on the field, ever since the Denmark international joined from Atalanta in the summer.
Hojlund scored his second goal in successive Premier League outings, with the early strike on Sunday, after Rashford's approach work created the chance, but the England man did not get credited with the assist on that occasion.
However, the no.10 did set up Rasmus's first two goals for the club - against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray - and this is something that had clearly been in the back of the former FC Copenhagen hitman's mind.

ArticleFebruary's edition features an exclusive interview with Rasmus Hojlund, plus much more.
Speaking a couple of days before our Emirates FA Cup tie at Wigan Athletic, the striker was asked about how he is building relationships with his colleagues, and Rashford in particular, as they have shown signs of combining well together in the attack.
"I think, with every team-mate, you try to get the understanding of how their game is," Hojlund told Inside United. "You start to understand each other and you're going to be even better on the pitch.
"And, at some point, then you're going to be unstoppable together. So, for us, I think every one of us has a desire to learn and understand each other's game."
When it was put to Rasmus that these things do take time, getting the combinations going, he agreed and spelt out his ambition to supply some ammunition for Rashford to finish off.
"Sure, it’s not something you get from one day to the other," he admitted. "But, again, I think we are getting there. I think me and Marcus, especially, try to find each other now.
"I think he’s got a couple of assists for me as well. So I’d love to give him one or two assists as well soon."
That was the case at the weekend, as Rashford worked a slick one-two inside the Tottenham box, and Hojlund's return allowed the homegrown forward to steer his finish past Guglielmo Vicario.

Although the strike edged United ahead for the second time in the match, unfortunately it was not enough to earn three points, with Rodrigo Bentancur equalising at the start of the second half.
However, the signs are looking promising, in terms of the attack starting to gel, and we look forward to seeing Hojlund continuing this impressive form. The Emirates FA Cup tie against either Newport County or Eastleigh is next on the horizon, after our winter break.
