Soccer Aid for Unicef match at Old Trafford postponed
The Soccer Aid for Unicef match, which was originally scheduled for Saturday 6 June 2020 at Old Trafford, has been postponed following an announcement today by Soccer Aid. The statement is as follows:
“Everyone connected with Soccer Aid for Unicef recognises that these are unprecedented times and our thoughts are with everyone affected by coronavirus.
In light of the current situation, the decision has been taken to postpone the Soccer Aid for Unicef match, which was originally scheduled for Saturday 6 June 2020.
The game – England vs. Soccer Aid World XI FC – was due to take place at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United FC and be broadcast live on ITV and STV.
Whilst a new date has not yet been confirmed, several options are being explored. Soccer Aid for Unicef remains committed to holding an event later this year to raise vital funds and help children everywhere grow up happy, healthy and able to play.
Tickets purchased for the original date will still be valid for the re-arranged match. Further updates will be provided as soon as they are available.
In the interim, all at Soccer Aid for Unicef wish everyone the best in staying healthy and well. Guidance from the UK Government on coronavirus provided by Public Health England on coronavirus can be found here: www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response.
