Ole provides team news update for West Ham clash

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows he must make changes to his Manchester United line-up as the Reds take on West Ham United this Saturday teatime with a 17:30 BST kick-off.

Luke Shaw and Ashley Young are both suspended and there are still injury and illness concerns for the manager to deal with.

Shaw starts a two-game domestic ban for accumulating 10 yellow cards over the course of the season, while Young is sidelined following his sending off in our last league outing, the 2-1 defeat at Wolves.

Ashley Young is ruled out after his red card at Wolves.

"We don't have full-backs this week," he explained in our exclusive interview. "Not too many as we've lost Luke and Ashley through suspension. Antonio [Valencia] is still not fit. Maybe Matteo [Darmian] will be available for the bench and [Marcos] Rojo has been training for a while.

"He's available and we've got Jonah [Phil Jones], who could also play there. Rojo needed to get out on the big pitch [in the Under-23s, against West Brom last Friday] so he could have that game but we've had a couple of practice matches so let's see what we decide."

Ander Herrera is still out and fellow midfielder Nemanja Matic must be rated doubtful after he missed the 1-0 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday.

There was some hope Alexis Sanchez could feature against the Hammers after a week's training but the game may come a little too soon for the Chilean.

"We're getting better and better but, of course, Nemanja fell ill," added Ole. "I'm not sure he's going to be ready. Alexis is getting close but I'm not sure he'll be ready yet."

Marcos Rojo played 45 minutes for the Under-23s against West Brom last week.

Samir Nasri could be absent with a calf problem for the visitors but Jack Wilshere is making progress and played for the Londoners' Under-23s at the weekend. However, he may not be risked at Old Trafford.

Striker Andy Carroll remains sidelined after an operation while Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanchez and Winston Reid are also definitely unavailable due to injury.
