Team news for Juventus encounter

Jose Mourinho has revealed his latest team news ahead of the Champions League clash with Juventus at Old Trafford, suggesting only those players pictured training on Monday morning are available for selection.

The boss confirmed Alexis Sanchez, who came off the bench at Chelsea on Saturday, is going to be missing as he was not part of the group that took part in the session in front of the media at the Aon Training Complex. Antonio Valencia recently underwent an operation that has had an impact on his fitness but he may be an option again in defence.

"The players you saw are the players that are available," he said at his press conference at Old Traford. "[We have] Nothing to hide and Alexis is out."

Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of the European tie.

When asked why Valencia has been excluded from the last couple of squads, the boss explained the situation regarding the club captain.

"The reason is he was 10 days without training with a problem," Jose added. "Not an injury but a problem that he had very complicated surgery on his mouth.

"And 10 days without training meant he needed a little bit of time to recover some level after that."

Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard and Scott McTominay were not spotted by the cameras and could also be absent when the Serie A champions provide the opposition in front of a capacity crowd. Under-23 players Tom Sang, Zak Dearnley and Tahith Chong did train with the main group.

"United's form was shown in the past two matches," added Mourinho. "The way we want to play, the way we can play was shown in the past two matches. So let's try to do it again."

Juventus have announced their travelling squad for Manchester, with young Moises Kean in the party. Emre Can, Sami Khedira and Mario Mandzukic were not on the flight but Cristiano Ronaldo is selected and makes another return to his former club.
