Team news: Lukaku and Darmian back

United manager Jose Mourinho has made four changes to the side that faced City in the Manchester derby

Romelu Lukaku returns to the XI to face Crystal Palace for his first start since the Champions League home match against Juventus four games ago.

The Belgian striker wasn't available to play for his country during the international break, after returning as a sub for United against City following a hamstring injury, but Mourinho has monitored his progress and names him to lead the line in the Premier League clash with Palace.

Luke Shaw picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the derby a fortnight ago and is suspended so his place in the Reds' defence has gone to Matteo Darmian. The Italian full-back has not started a senior match since the opening night of the season against Leicester City back in August.

Paul Pogba returns to United's midfield. The Frenchman was ruled out of the City match due to injury and it also forced him out of his country's squad during the internationals. He will replace Ander Herrera in the engine room.

Matteo Darmian has earned a full-back slot against Palace.

Juan Mata is back in the line-up and comes in for Marouane Fellaini, in another change from the derby XI at the Etihad Stadium.

United: De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Lindelof, Young (c); Matic, Pogba; Mata, Lingard, Martial; Lukaku.

Substitutes: Grant, Jones, Valencia, Fellaini, Fred, Alexis, Rashford.

Wilfried Zaha starts for Palace, with Andros Townsend also in attack, and Mamadou Sakho is also fit to play.
