Melvine Malard has expressed her gratitude to her team-mates and the club's fans for helping her to make a blistering start to life at Manchester United.

The French striker has wasted no time in making an impact since arriving on loan from Lyon at the end of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has scored three times in five appearances for Marc Skinner’s side so far, including a historic goal against Paris St-Germain in our first-ever UEFA Women’s Champions League match.

In her episode of TeamViewer’s Player Diaries, which you can watch below, our new no.9 spoke of how grateful she is for the support she’s received from all parts of the club since moving from France.

“I’ve really hit the ground running in Manchester, which I’m very proud of,” she said.

“That’s partly down to my team-mates who helped me to put in the performances that I did in the first games, and it’s also partly down to the fans who give us a great atmosphere and a lot of love. So, we’re surrounded by good vibes here, which is great.”

Melvine is enjoying life at United as she seeks to fulfil the ambitions she set out when arriving at the club, to test herself and develop further as a player.

“I really like it here, the people here are really cool,” she explained. “They’re smiley and super positive, so I like it here a lot. My team-mates talk to me a lot and the captain [Katie Zelem] really is behind me. If I need anything, she’s always there to help me. Not in French, but I’m adapting! Everyone’s involved though, and you can’t ask for more than that.”

Following the international break, United Women will return to action away at Brighton on Sunday 5 November, with kick-off at 18:45 GMT.
