Donny van de Beek's knee injury, suffered in the recent win over Bournemouth, brought a premature end to the Manchester United midfielder's season.

The Dutchman recently underwent surgery after his early withdrawal against the Cherries, and posted a positive update on social media last week.

It prompted his team-mates, ex-Reds and further members of the footballing community to warmly offer their support, as the 25-year-old begins his road to recovery.

NETHERLANDS TEAM-MATES

Fellow Dutchmen Matthijs de Ligt and Daley Blind – the latter being a former Red too, of course – also added hearts.

Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries and Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake were among several other Netherlands internationals to issue their support.
