Monday 21 December 2020 08:00

It's another busy week at Manchester United, with two important matches coming up, as we enter the festive period.

Here's all you need to know, about the penultimate week of 2020...

MONDAY

We'll be reacting to an entertaining and convincing 6-2 win over Leeds United, with goals, interviews and the biggest stories from Sunday.

We also start the week with a big UTD Podcast as the guest this week is none other than Marcus Rashford. Our no. 10 has quite a body of work to look back on, both on and off the pitch, and shares stories from breaking through at United when talking to Sam Homewood, Helen Evans and David May. This not to be missed and it will be available at 17:00 GMT on the podcast streaming platform of your preference.

TUESDAY

Attention turns to the Carabao Cup, with the Reds travelling to Merseyside to play Everton at Goodison Park in the quarter-finals. On Tuesday, Brentford host Newcastle, while Manchester City travel to Arsenal.

WEDNESDAY

United will hope to replicate our 3-1 win at Goodison Park last time out, when Ole’s men make the journey to the blue side of Merseyside. In our previous meeting this season, our Portuguese magnifico Bruno Fernandes scored twice before Edinson Cavani slotted in his first United goal in stoppage time as the Reds came away with all three points.

The quarter-final of the Carabao Cup kicks off at 20:00 GMT and you can follow the game via our Official App and watch all the pre-match and post-match build-up live on MUTV as well as listen to live radio commentary of the match. Elsewhere, Stoke host Tottenham in the early kick-off, while the draw for the semi-finals will follow our game.

THURSDAY

On Christmas Eve, we will be looking back at the match against the Toffees and hopefully celebrating another away win. We'll also be looking forward to Boxing Day, when we take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

FRIDAY

It’s 25th December – and we’d like to take the opportunity to wish all Reds around the world a very happy Christmas!

Leeds midfielder Raphinha isn’t a fan of David De Gea, after these three saves at Old Trafford…

SATURDAY

Following Friday’s festivities, it’s an early start as United take on Leicester City in the East Midlands, with kick-off set for 12:30 GMT. Ole’s side will be hoping for a repeat of our showing in July, when a Bruno Fernandes penalty and Jesse Lingard’s late goal secured the 2-0 win that meant we qualified for the Champions League.

SUNDAY

Attention turns to our last game of 2020, which is at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday 29 December. The clash with Nuno Espirito Santos’s men is our 56th game of a year that has been nothing short of eventful. At the time of writing, with Everton and Leicester still to be played, we’ve won 32, drawn nine and lost 12 of our 53 games in this current calendar year.
