The week ahead: Key dates for the diary

First and foremost, our much-missed supporters will be back – or at least up to 10,000 of them will be – for Tuesday’s home clash with Fulham and hopefully they can roar us on to the victory that would secure a second-placed finish in the Premier League.

We then travel to Wolves for the final game of the league season, but there are still lots of other dates for your diary in and around those fixtures…

MONDAY

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s press conference to preview Tuesday’s clash with Fulham will be available to watch and read on the Official App and ManUtd.com from 13:30 BST. We’ll provide you with the latest team news and stories, ahead of our final Old Trafford outing of the season.

Monday also sees the release of the latest edition of UTD Podcast, featuring former United goalkeeper and coach Tony Coton.

TUESDAY

Fans are back at Old Trafford! The UK government’s COVID-19 guidance changed again on Monday, meaning a limited number of spectators can now attend football matches. Up to 10,000 will be in attendance at the Theatre of Dreams for the visit of the already relegated Cottagers and, 436 long days since we last heard the roar of a crowd in this great stadium, we can’t wait to welcome you back when the game gets underway at 18:00 BST.

WEDNESDAY

We’ll have all the reaction to the Fulham game, plus bonus videos such as extended highlights, our Tunnel Insider podcast, Access All Areas and more.

Wednesday is a fond day for farewells in United history, with Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game in charge having come on this day at West Brom in 2013. Paul Scholes made his 718th and final appearance in a red shirt at the Hawthorns, while his long-time team-mate Ryan Giggs announced his retirement from football a year later.

Happy birthday to Diego Forlan. The Uruguayan United cult hero turns 42 today.

THURSDAY

This is hard to believe, but it’s exactly one year since the players returned to training after the first COVID-19 lockdown! Our lads have barely stopped since then, playing a whopping 72 games in all competitions. Keep your eyes peeled for more exclusive pics of them working hard at the Aon Training Complex this week.

FRIDAY

Friday sees Solskjaer hold his final Premier League press conference of 2020/21 and, as usual, you can watch a live stream on ManUtd.com and in the Official App from 10:00 BST.

We’ll be wishing ex-Red and former Under-23s coach Quinton Fortune a happy 44th birthday, while it’s another good excuse to delve back into United’s history, with the 1977 FA Cup and 2008 Champions League both captured on this day.

SATURDAY

It would have been the 75th birthday of one of the greatest of all Reds, George Best, today. One of the most talented ever to play the game, ‘El Beatle’ made 470 appearances for United and scored in the 1968 European Cup final, as we became the first English team to win the trophy after beating Benfica 4-1 in the Wembley final.

SUNDAY

It’s the end of our domestic season, as we travel to Molineux to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers, with kick-off at 16:00 BST. With United having already qualified for the Champions League, and Wolves safely esconced in mid-table, you might think that there’s little riding on the game, but there is a chance of history for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

A win or a draw would see us become just the fourth team in English top-flight history to go through a whole campaign without losing away from home, after Preston (1888/89) and Arsenal (twice, in 2001/02 and 2003/04).
