What's happening at United this week?

Monday 25 April 2022 07:30

Manchester United's men and women have crucial clashes to come this week as the respective bids to secure European football next season continue.

Ralf Rangnick's side host Chelsea on Thursday evening at Old Trafford, while United Women entertain West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

There is also action for our Under-23s and a packed out triple-header for our Under-18s too, with the 2021/22 campaign reaching the defining moments for all of our teams.

Here’s everything that’s happening this week at the club…

MONDAY

We're wishing current Reds centre-back Raphael Varane a happy 29th birthday, while former United defender Graeme Hogg is the subject of a new episode of the UTD Podcast. The Scot shares his memories from his time at Old Trafford - including facing Diego Maradona when aged 19 - and also discusses his life after football. The episode will be released today in the United App and will be available on other podcast streaming platforms from Tuesday.

TUESDAY

Travis Binnion’s young Reds get their busy week underway with the first of a trio of U18 Premier League fixtures. Blackburn’s youngsters are the visitors as United will look to build on Saturday's 6-0 humbling of Newcastle United. The match at the J. Davidson Stadium will kick-off at 19:00 BST, 15 minutes after live coverage begins on MUTV.

WEDNESDAY

Ralf Rangnick will share his thoughts and could provide updates on his squad ahead of Thursday's match with Chelsea, with the interim manager's press conference being available to watch via ManUtd.com, our App and MUTV.

Meanwhile, less than 24 hours after their last outing, United’s Under-18s take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the U18 Premier League. The match away at the Aggborough Stadium in Kidderminster kicks off at 13:00 BST.

THURSDAY

The Reds host Chelsea at Old Trafford in the Premier League with just four games remaining in the campaign, but plenty still to play for in the race for European qualification. Kick-off is at 19:45 BST, with the match being shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK. Matchday coverage will also be available on all of our official platforms as usual, with team news breaking first in our app at 18:45 BST.

Our Spanish midfielder Juan Mata, who has played for both clubs of course, celebrates his 34th birthday on Thursday – many happy returns Juan!
