What’s happening at United this week?

Our Under-18s and United Women also have games to prepare for and play, with the latter looking to follow up Sunday’s historic first match in front of an Old Trafford crowd by winning again.

In addition, there are a host of anniversaries, birthdays, and landmarks that we will be celebrating across the next seven days.

Here's everything you need to know about this week at United…

MONDAY 

On this day in 2019, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed permanent manager, a post he would hold until 21 November 2021.

TUESDAY

Travis Binnion’s Under-18s have a trip to Blackburn Rovers in the Under-18 Premier League. Kick-off is at 13:00 GMT, and the match is being broadcast on MUTV. Alternatively, you can keep up to date with team news, half-time and full-time updates in the United App.

Tuesday marks eight years to the day since current Reds midfielder Juan Mata scored his first United goal. The Spanish maestro has gone on to score 51 times in total for the club.

Many United players will be representing their countries on Tuesday night, with fixtures including World Cup play-off finals for Portugal (Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot), Sweden (Anthony Elanga, Victor Lindelof) and Wales (Dylan Levitt). WEDNESDAY

Former United winger Karel Poborsky celebrates his 50th birthday on Wednesday, and we'll be wishing him many happy returns.

Wednesday marks the date in 1960 when Dennis Viollet achieved a club-record tally of 32 league goals in one season.

THURSDAY

On this day in 1973, Sir Bobby Charlton scored his final goal for United as his glittering 17-year career approached its end. It was his 249th strike for the Reds, setting a club record that stood until Wayne Rooney broke it in January 2017.

Similarly, Thursday is also the date when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored his last goal for the club, against Blackburn Rovers in 2007 - his 126th in total. This match was also notable for the club’s record league attendance, with 76,098 supporters in attendance, a record that still stands today.

FRIDAY

Friday is the anniversary of Billy Whelan's birth. He was aged just 22 when he sadly perished in the Munich Air Disaster.

SATURDAY

The Reds are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening (17:30 GMT), with Leicester City visiting Old Trafford as Rangnick’s side look to continue the push for a top-four finish. This match is being broadcastlive  on Sky Sports in the UK, but you can also follow matchday coverage across all our official platforms.

The Under-18s are on the road again on Saturday, travelling north to face Middlesbrough in the Under-18 Premier League. Kick-off is at 12:30 GMT and the game will be shown live on MUTV, with team news plus half-time and full-time updates posted in the United App.

United legend Teddy Sheringham is celebrating his 56th birthday on Saturday. Happy birthday Teddy!

SUNDAY

United Women host Brighton in the Women’s Super League this Sunday, looking to build on the thrilling 3-1 victory over Everton at Old Trafford and strengthen the bid for Champions League football next season. This match kicks off at 12:00 GMT and will be hosted at Leigh Sports Village, with live coverage on MUTV.
