This week at Manchester United: 11-17 September
Manchester United return to Premier League action at Old Trafford on Saturday, with Brighton & Hove Albion being our first opponents after the September international break.
Before then, there is plenty to keep an eye out for, including the remaining international matches involving our players across the globe. Later in the week, the Reds are set to regroup at Carrington and Erik ten Hag will preview the weekend's fixture in his pre-match press conference.
The next seven days is filled with key dates for United Women too. Our pre-season campaign continues with two friendlies, the first of which is against Liverpool and is a game that you can watch live on MUTV for free! The WSL summer transfer window will close this week and our first-ever UEFA Women's Champions League opponents will be confirmed.
The following day-by-day breakdown has all the details of the above and much more...
Our involvement in September's international matches continues later today, when a Portugal squad including United duo Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes takes on Luxembourg in a Euro 2024 qualifier.
The fixture gets under way at 19:45 BST, and our Portuguese pair will be hoping to help their nation maintain its 100 per cent record in Group J so far.
You will be able to get your hands on the latest issue of our official monthly magazine, Inside United. The October 2023 edition looks ahead to the Champions League group stage, documents our eSports team's success at the 2023 eFootball Championship Pro tournament, and includes much more besides. It will be available to buy in newsagents and shops, as well as at the Old Trafford Megastore. You can also buy your copy or subscription online via manutd.com/magazine.
We will also have a brand-new episode of our topical panel show, The Debate, for you to enjoy in the build-up to United's return to Premier League action.
Meanwhile, on the pitch, several of our players still have business to take care of on the international stage, and as many as 10 of our stars could represent their nations before the clocks tick into Wednesday in the UK. Here's a full list of the fixtures that our Reds could play a part in:
Egypt v Tunisia (Hannibal) - 17:00 BST
Scotland (McTominay) v England (Maguire, Rashford)
Sweden (Lindelof) v Austria
Japan v Turkey (Bayindir)
Cameroon (Onana) v Burundi - 20:00 BST
Bolivia v Argentina (Garnacho, Martinez) - 21:00 BST
Ecuador v Uruguay (Pellistri) - 22:00 BST
September's internationals come to a close for our players in the early hours of Wednesday morning (03:00 BST kick-off), when Casemiro's Brazil face Peru in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
There's also an offering of live midweek football on MUTV, as supporters can tune in to watch United Women's friendly against Liverpool, the side we faced in our final WSL fixture of last season - see the highlights below.
Although the game is to be played behind closed doors at Carrington, it will be the first chance for our fans to see Marc Skinner's side play live in this pre-season campaign - and it will be shown for free on ManUtd.com and the United App! Kick-off is at 12:00 BST, with coverage starting 15 minutes beforehand.
It's deadline day in the summer transfer window for Women's Super League club, so be sure to keep an eye on ManUtd.com and the United App for all the latest news on incomings and outgoings.
For our men's team, preparations will be firmly up and running at Carrington for the weekend's contest with Brighton.
Thursday also marks exactly 60 years since United icon George Best made his debut for the club, as a 17-year-old, in a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford.
We'll find out who our first UEFA Women's Champions League opponents will be, when the second-round draw takes place in Nyon, Switzerland at 12:00 BST on Friday. Victory in the two-legged tie will see us progress to the competition's group stage
Also in the afternoon, you will be able to hear from United boss Erik ten Hag, when he holds his pre-match press conference on the eve of Saturday's Premier League game against Brighton. Our website and app will be the best places to find both parts of the manager's media briefing.
It's matchday at the Theatre of Dreams, with Brighton visiting M16 for a 15:00 BST kick-off in the Premier League. The game will not be shown live on TV in the UK, but we will have live radio commentary on MUTV, ManUtd.com and in our app. Our Matchday Live pre-match show will be on air from 14:15 BST, with build-up, expert insight, exclusive interviews and more to be packed into it. Short match highlights will be available on our platforms from two hours after the final whistle.
Earlier in the day, we will also be live-streaming our Under-18s' league meeting with Nottingham Forest, with coverage starting 15 minutes before the 12:30 BST kick-off.
Reaction to Saturday's proceedings at Old Trafford will continue on club media, and you will be able to watch extended highlights from midnight UK time.
United Women's second pre-season friendly of the week gets under way at 12:00 BST, with Skinner's Reds taking on Tottenham Hotspur. The behind-closed-doors match, to be played at a neutral venue, will not be broadcast live, but highlights will be available across our channels.
