Key details for United Women v Newcastle

Thursday 21 December 2023 12:00

Manchester United will welcome Newcastle United to Leigh Sports Village in the fourth round of the Women’s Adobe FA Cup in January, for our first competitive outing of the new year.

It has now been confirmed that the game is scheduled for a 12:00 GMT kick-off, on Sunday 14 January.

The fixture has also been selected for broadcast, meaning fans unable to attend the game can watch the action live on The FA Player.

January’s maiden meeting between the two sides will kickstart our FA Cup campaign, where we will look to go one better than last season, which saw us narrowly beaten by Chelsea in the final.

Our 2022/23 run to Wembley saw us beat another north-east side in the shape of Sunderland, thanks to a Nikita Parris double.

We then dispatched Durham with a comfortable 5-0 victory, before putting three past south-coast club Lewes.

Our place in the final was sealed in dramatic fashion, with Rachel Williams’s memorable last-minute winner against Brighton sending us to the capital.
Here is a reminder of the other FA Cup ties, as United and Newcastle prepare to meet for the very first time in the two clubs' histories…
