Which United player will shine against Brighton?
Reds supporters are backing Jadon Sancho to shine in Sunday’s Premier League opener against Brighton & Hove Albion, judging by our United Predictions game.
The livewire forward was arguably the best player throughout Erik ten Hag’s pre-season campaign and, despite missing last weekend’s matches against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano through illness, fans appear confident he will have a big role to play at Old Trafford this weekend.
We can reveal that, at the time of writing, Sancho is the favourite to win our Man-of-the-Match award with 28 per cent of United Predictions players backing him. The Englishman is followed by influential playmaker Bruno Fernandes (19 per cent) and new signing Christian Eriksen (11 per cent).
Sancho is also being tipped to score the first goal, although Anthony Martial currently tops that chart with 33 per cent after scoring three times in pre-season. The France international is back at United following a loan spell at Sevilla last season and appears to be flourishing under Ten Hag’s tutelage.
In terms of the match, United Predictions players are in confident mood and the majority foresee a 3-1 home win at the Theatre of Dreams, which would certainly be a positive start to the season.
