United Predictions: Supporters back Reds to top Group E

Thursday 03 November 2022 09:27

You can have your say on how you think Manchester United's crucial Europa League match against Real Sociedad will play out, through our very own United Predictions game.

The Reds play La Real in San Sebastian on Thursday evening (kick-off 17:45 GMT), looking to finish the group-stage on a high and leapfrog our hosts to the top of Group E.

The Spanish side currently sit three points above United going into the final fixture of the group and with the head-to-head advantage having beaten us on the first matchday.

A one-goal win would even up the head-to-head standings but, as we have a goal difference of +6, compared to the Basque outfit's +9. Erik ten Hag’s side will have to win by two goals in Spain to emerge as Group E victors.

At the time of writing, that’s what the majority of our supporters are predicting United to do.

CORRECT SCORE

A huge 57 per cent of fans are backing the Reds to win by a deficit of at least two, with 28 per cent believing the Reds will win 2-0, 17 per cent predicting a scoreline of 3-1 to United and 12 per cent foreseeing a comfortable 3-0 victory for Ten Hag’s team.

However, more than a quarter of voters (27 per cent) believe United will come up short and only beat the Spanish side by one goal.

Here are the five most popular score predictions:

28% = Real Sociedad 0 United 2
21% = Real Sociedad 1 United 2
17% = Real Sociedad 1 United 3
12% = Real Sociedad 0 United 3
6% = Real Sociedad 0 United 1

MAN OF THE MATCH

Our recently crowned Player of the Month Casemiro is slowly emerging as a fan favourite, and a vital member of the United team.

For our match against Real Sociedad, the Brazilian is out in front as the player fans are backing to win our Man of the Match award.

Casemiro has 18 per cent of the vote as it stands, with Cristiano Ronaldo following closely behind with 17.

The other players in the top-five - Marcus Rashford, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez – have all accumulated double figures for percentages of the vote too.

Here are the top-five in this category:

18% = Casemiro
17% = Cristiano Ronaldo
13% = Marcus Rashford
12% = Christian Eriksen
11% = Lisandro Martinez
