Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made five changes to his line-up as Manchester United face Everton at Old Trafford, three days after the Reds dramatically beat Villarreal in the Champions League.

Our late, late match winner in the 2-1 victory against the Spaniards, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been rested and is on the bench against Rafa Benitez's side.

Into the XI come Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Fred, Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani.

Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho join Ronaldo amongst the subs after starting against Villarreal.

Ole: A team we believe in

The manager explains his team selection for the clash with the Toffees, after making five changes...

"Well, Wednesday night was a big effort, with big emotional and physical outputs, so we needed to freshen up," Ole told club media.

"It's an early kick-off and the start of this game is going to be very important and we have some very good players coming in, so I think it is a team that we believe is going to take the challenge."

In attack, Cavani makes his first start of the season for the Reds, having made three sub appearances against Villarreal, Aston Villa and Wolves and there is an opportunity again for Martial.

The boss was asked if our French striker, in particular, has a point to prove.

"There is always a point to prove when you are on the pitch but they know they are good players, they know they are going to be very important for us if we re going to be successful this season.

"We need to manage the minutes, we need to make sure we are a big squad and we are together. Everyone is ready for it."
