Manchester United Under-18s' away match at Blackburn was abandoned due to heavy snowfall on Saturday morning.

The young Reds had travelled to Brockhall to face Rovers in the U18 Premier League, with the game kicking off as planned at 11:00 GMT.

However, as rain turned to snow, the match was halted at 0-0 with the players struggling to see the ball on the pitch as the wintry conditions began to settle in.

The Under-18s progressed in the FA Youth Cup, while our next UEFA Youth League opponents have been revealed.

During that pause around the 10th-minute mark, the blizzard intensified, leaving the pitch completely covered and the match ruled as unplayable, with the safety of both sets of players and staff in mind.

A further announcement on the rearrangement of the fixture will now be made in due course.

Travis Binnion’s side will now turn attentions to our FA Youth Cup quarter-final against Leicester City. That match is taking place at Old Trafford on Thursday, with kick-off at 19:00 GMT.

A limited number of tickets remain available for the game at the Theatre of Dreams and you can be there to cheer on the young Reds by securing yours here.
