Marcus Rashford walks off against Wolves.

Ole's injury update on Marcus Rashford

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on Marcus Rashford, following Manchester United's 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford.

With the match goalless, the manager brought Rashford on for Daniel James in the 64th minute, but the forward wasn't on the pitch for long, after being hurt during a challenge by Wolves defender Matt Doherty with 14 minutes to go.

Although our top scorer was able to briefly continue, he was withdrawn by Solskjaer a few minutes later.

Speaking after the match, the boss issued an update on the fitness of Rashford and whether or not he could still feature in this weekend's Premier League fixture against Liverpool.

"He’s had trouble with the back lately but that is a different matter," he said to MUTV. "Now we have got a different one. I don’t think it is related but he had to come off. I can say we will do everything we can to see and try to get him fit for Sunday but I can’t promise. We will manage."

When asked again about Marcus in his post-match press conference, Ole said: "I didn't want to play him, but we needed the win. It has backfired. I can say we'll do everything we can to get him fit. He's been available and fit this season. He's a quick healer.  He's struggled lately but more when he's tired."

Marcus has been a mainstay for United this campaign. The England international has played the fourth-most amount of minutes in the Premier League and has been prolific in front of goal. In all competitions, Rashford has struck the back of the net 19 times, and provided five assists for his team-mates.

The boss may provide further news on our striker in his regular MUTV interview and pre-match press conference on Friday, ahead of the weekend match against the league leaders at Anfield.
