The Barbershop: Watch episode one of our new series

Our new and original show allows Manchester United fans to see the players in a totally different, more relaxed environment at our Carrington training ground.

Filmed in the dedicated barber facilities, which formed part of the huge revamp of our base last summer, the focus is on the Reds enjoying their downtime after training.

Episode one, which is available to watch now across our platforms, features four Reds as they sit through their appointments with hairdresser Cal Newsome, as our cameras discreetly record the interactions.

Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Benjamin Sesko and Manuel Ugarte are the stars to begin with, as Cal maintains their look and, as any barber would, engages them on football, life and the trending topics of the time.

As we filmed just after the big break between games against West Ham United and Everton, holidays are a dominant theme of the conversation, with Diogo reminiscing about a trip to Croatia with former midfield favourite Fred, before he and Ben discuss what their dream break would look like.

Cal, as a master of his craft, gets into the details of Licha’s latest look, teasing the Argentina defender about his trim from earlier in the season.

"I was injured, man!" offers the South American, by way of explanation.

Manu is also introduced to a video of ‘Punch the monkey’, the cute Japanese macaque that went viral due to its adorable attachment to a large stuffed orangutan toy.

Nutritionist Filipe Sousa regularly pops his head in to offer his opinion, suggesting to Ben: “I think your first buzzcut was too short!” before Diogo explains a popular Portuguese idiom as he puts him in his place...

The Barbershop will be a regular series for you to enjoy for the rest of the season, with episode two released later in the week.
